November Newsletter

By Dian Lawhon, Communications Chair.

November saw some mega events such as the 9th Annual Ocoee River Race which brought in 138 racers and $5000 for Team River Runner.  See winners, photos and other details of the race in this month’s newsletter.  Check out the article about Team River Runner and how they help wounded military veterans. October also welcomed new members of the TVCC Board of Officers and said farewell to outgoing members.  Learn who is new, who is staying, and who is going.  They want to hear from you whether you have a question or suggestion, so don’t hesitate to contact them at the email addresses provided.

Each year TVCC participates in the area wide River Rescue, cleaning both Lookout and South Chic Creeks.  Both River clean-ups by TVCC volunteers netted a lot of trash; in particular the efforts on South Chick  that filled nearly a dumpster with massive amounts of trash and tires.  Hats off to all the volunteers that made this another successful event.  The November newsletter also contains the First Quarter Financial Report–learn how much much we bring in, how much we spend, and where it all goes.

As winter approaches, it is doubly important to be safety conscious and this month’s edition provides some important tips for staying safe as temperatures drop.   Roll practice begins Tue, November 28, 2017 – Tue, March 20, 2018 at UTC.  You can get in around 6:45 pm.  For more information contact Pat Carver (423) 304-6519.  Due to problems with the Events section of the website, the information about this event is not yet loaded.  However, it will be, so check back later.

Did you know that all newsletter articles are not only posed on the website, but live there indefinitely?   Check out the News/Archives Tab and search by subject or month for archived articles that provide good information long after they are posed.
