Is the Middle Ocoee running?

The Middle Ocoee is controlled by TVA Ocoee Dam #2.

How to Read the Online Gauge:
  1. Count how many generators are running. In this example, there are two.

  2. Each generator holds a capacity of 600 cfs. Multiply the number of generators running by 600. In this example, 600 cfs x 2 generators = 1,200 cfs. That’s how much water is being diverted OUT of the river.
  3. Subtract the water being diverted OUT of the river from the Average Hourly Discharge. In this example, 2485 CFS Total – 1200 CFS Diverted = 1285 cfs IN THE RIVER

  4. The average summer Ocoee day is 1,200 – 1800 CFS, but the Ocoee can be run much lower and much higher, though the river gets pushy especially above 3,000 cfs.
