The TVCC Instructor Scholarship Program is now taking applications for 2023 training slots. We will begin accepting applications on February 1, 2023. The applications are due to us, via email, by March 1, 2023.
If you are interested in becoming a certified instructor in your kayaking or safety discipline through the American Canoe Association then apply for the Tennessee Valley Canoe Club’s scholarship program. Disciplines will include kayaking, canoeing, standup paddle boarding, and swift water rescue.
We also will be accepting applications for currently certified ACA Instructors that are due for Recertification training.
For initial Instructor certification training, two years of active participation in the club is preferred for our selected candidates. If you are selected, the club will cover up to 80% of the cost of the course (excluding food, travel, and lodging). If you are selected and participate in the instructor course, you will be required to give back to the club through volunteering.
If you are selected for recertification training, TVCC will cover 100% of the cost (excluding food, travel ad lodging).
Candidates selected will be notified in early March of their acceptance in the program.
