For those who didn’t get enough whitewater training at Paddle School, Stacy Stone, Whitewater Cruise Master III/IV, has put together a training trip schedule with several TVCC experienced whitewater paddlers to do a little more whitewater training through September. Check out the TVCC website, Events tab, for all the details.
On Saturday, June 10th, Steve Crowell will lead the first of several training trips. This one features Class II on the Hiwassee River. You must contact the trip leader prior to attending this trip to confirm the scheduled time and naturally, all trips are weather dependent. Contact: Steve Crowell, 423.994.4732
Training Trip #2 will also be a Class II on the Hiwassee River. This is scheduled for Sunday, June 11th. As always, you must contact the trip leader prior to attending this trip to confirm the scheduled time and the trip is weather dependent! Contact: Rebekah Harris, 423.667.3783
Training Trip #3 will once again be a Class II on the Hiwassee River. This one is Saturday, June 17th. Please contact Lee Torbush, 770.598.0494 or torbushscout@gmail.com prior to attending this trip to confirm the scheduled time. Once again, the trip is weather dependent.
Training Trip #4 is on the Tuckasegee River and also a Class II. It will be on Saturday, June 24th. Please contact Ali Reddington at 865-621-2994 if you want to attend the class and to confirm the scheduled time. Naturally, the trip is weather dependent.
Also on June 24th is camping at the Smoky Mountain Meadows with the option of a paddle on the Nantahala the next day (Sun, Jun 25th). Please contact: Gail Lyons, 706-889-5357, prior to participating in this event and to confirm times/dates. The trip could be canceled due to water or weather condition.
