Eric joined the club in 1993 and currently leads flatwater trips on many creeks and rivers in both Tennessee and Georgia.  During warm months, the trips are generally twice a month and include paddling through the dam locks, and pretty much every flatwater and Class I river within driving distance.

Eric also teaches flatwater safety at the annual Paddle School and is very safety conscious during every trip he leads.  He and his wife Ruthie (who also helps with trips) have been married for 40 years and live in FT Oglethorpe, GA with their Yellow Lab Mattie.  They are both retired and enjoy spending time with their three boys who are all married with kids.  They also enjoy kayaking, travel, and camping.
