On a beautiful, sunny (but breezy day), 17 of us paddled Soddy Creek in a record high of 89 degrees—and it’s still April! We stopped at the power lines to watch the Ospreys. We saw three nests and four birds—one of them carrying a branch for its nest. Obviously, it is nesting season with lots of activity going on. They were none too happy to see us!
There were also a lot of power boats out and a couple of stand-up jet ski’s which I haven’t seen for a while. Felt like an ocean paddle at times with big swells but everyone did great.
On the way back we stopped at the Steve’s Landing Marina Restaurant where we had a good and leisurely lunch before paddling back to the put in.
Another great day on the water with a fine group of paddlers.
