The highlight of June was the annual Paddle School with 268 students, instructors and support boaters. Thanks to all the hundred plus volunteers that made the 2017 Paddle School one of the best ever!! In case you didn’t know it, the revenue that we collected from registration fees, auction, selling t-shirts, etc., covers the many expenses hosting this school entails. Money left over will be used as donations to non-profit organizations such as buying the boat this spring for Polk County Rescue. Following paddle school, class II white water training has continued most Saturdays, with roll practice on Thursday. Check out the events section of this website for upcoming training trips as well as opportunities to get with friends for recreational paddling.
The big event for July is the Rescue Rodeo where graduates of the recent paddle school are encouraged to take the next step toward becoming even safer on the water.
