COMPETITION
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING (yes we know it is a lot of information here)!!! Most of the signups, registration and information we are sharing with you that we normally would do in person has gone virtual to minimize time and paper waste.
Please remember that this event is volunteer run, so please complete the entire registration process to make our volunteers lives a bit easier!
RACE COURSE: The course is on the "bowling alley" section of the North Chickamauga Creek. We will race as long as the level is between 0.5 NCSGUs and 3.0 NCSGUs (NCSGUs= North Chick Stick Gauge Units) The race will start at the normal put in for this section where people cross the creek to the otherside of the trail. Paddlers will be released at 1 minute intervals. You and your boat must be at the start line at your scheduled race time. You are responsible for bringing your own boat and gear to this point on time. Any person leaving the eddy prematurely will be disqualified. Finish time will be determined when the paddler tags designated rock with the finish line banner with their kayak. The rock will be at the bottom most eddy near the last parking area downstream of the North Chick Stick Gauge. (YOU MUST PHYSICALLY TOUCH THE ROCK TO FINISH). Verify your race number with a time keeper before heading up the trail. The winner in each division will be determined by fastest time.
Racers can race one time in the normal race.
****THERE WILL BE AN EXTREME ENDURANCE RACE AT THE END**** Any racer who would like to join this lap must still be registered to race. It will be a mass start from the bottom parking area to the finish line. (THIS INCLUDES BOTH THE HIKE AND PADDLE)
PLEASE RETURN YOUR RACE BIB TO THE TIMERS AT THE FINISH LINE.
