On September 29th, 18 paddlers met at the Cummings Hwy bridge for a paddle up Lookout Creek and return. We unloaded our boats and gear and put on for a six-mile round trip up the creek. It was a great day for a paddle.
We came across a beaver dam where the tributary was about six inches deeper than Lookout Creek but we didn’t see the beaver. Sadly, we also came across a dead deer stuck on a stump in the creek. Not sure if it just washed up there at higher water or got trapped somehow. That was a first.
After the paddle, we loaded up and headed over to the nearby Cracker Barrel for a good meal. It was another fun outdoor day.
